AbstractPrimary dysmenorrhea is a common gynecological disorder in women of reproductive age. Despite the effective conventional treatments such as nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and oral contraceptives, researchers have always been looking for alternative drugs due to the adverse effects and limited efficacy of these medications. Glycyrrhiza glabra L. (G. glabra), commonly known as Licorice, has been applied for a long time as a plant with multiple therapeutic potencies in Traditional Persian Medicine (TPM). This study was designed to evaluate the effect of the G. glabra on primary dysmenorrhea.en
