University of the Third Age: A Unique Model for Successful Implementation of “Active Ageing”

Abstract

The world's population is rapidly ageing due to low birth rates and rising life expectancy. It is expected that between 2000 and 2050, the proportion of world's population over 60 years will double from about 11% to 22%.
