AbstractThis study investigated the relationship between noncontrolled and self-motivated brisk walking with physical and mental health of women living in west Tehran, Iran. The Persian version of Short Form Health Survey (SF-36) applied for data collection. Researchers referred to three public parks to recruit volunteer women aged 35-55 years old. Participants were randomly selected and divided into active and non-active groups (walking & not walking) for interviewing. Physical and mental summary measures were calculated using QMHOSS2. Findings showed that there was significant correlation between regular walking with physical and mental health in women. It’s concluded that regular walking may improve physical and mental health in women.en
