AbstractBackground:  Approximately 80 to 90 percent of women will experience a urinary tract infection at least once in their lifetime. 2 to 11 of them, in first pregnancy Trimester are affected, which, if untreated, leads to the maternal and fetal risks. Screening for urinary infection, is considered part of prenatal care. The purpose of this study was to determine the frequency of bacteriuria in pregnant women and their relationships with certain demographic variables.en
