| Abstract | Introduction: Different ways of voice assessment exist, among which, acoustic assessment remains the most useful and precise method. Noticeably, the most important parameters measured in this type of assessment are fundamental frequency, jitter, shimmer, and harmonics to noise ratio. These parameters are previously normalized in many other languages. However, these parameters are not generalizable to the Persian language as they are influenced by linguistic, cultural, and ethnic characteristics. The aim of this study was to examine and determine the above mentioned acoustic indicators in Persian language. Materials and Methods: This descriptive-analytic study was conducted on 100 normal Persian-speaking adults in Tehran, Iran. The subject;#39s voice samples (in three phonation registers) were recorded and analyzed by Praat3/9 Software and acoustic parameters (fundamental frequency, jitter, shimmer and harmony to noise ratio) were extracted.
