AbstractBackground: Radiation workers in diagnostic and therapeutic options are exposed to long-term low levels of ionizing radiation, that may be harmful to the health for this persons. In this study, we investigate the effectiveness of ionizing radiation on blood parameters in radiation and other wards workers in Kermanshah hospitals (2012). Materials and Methods: In this comparative analytical study that were undertaken in 2012, some blood parameters in 49 radiation workers of Kermanshah hospitals (cases) and also 49 persons who worked in other wards and had nothing to do with radiation but were matched with the cases regarding intervening variables were assessed. The data was analyzed using SPSS20 and statistical tests such as Student's t-test. The meaningless level of tests considered as p0.05). Conclusions: Results of this study showed that long-term low levels of ionizing radiation does not significant effects on the blood parameters in radiation workers.en
