Abstract | Background: Drug delivery methods based on nanoparticles have shown promise in the treatment of cancer. The nanoparticles (NPs) have a cytotoxicity effect on cancer cells. Objectives: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of fibrin nanoparticles (FNPs) on breast cancer cells. Methods: MCF-7 cell lines were treated with 100 µg/mL of FNP for 5 days. On day five, gene and protein expression were evaluated to determine the anti-cancer effects of the FNPs. Results: BCL2, an anti-apoptotic (BCL2) and angiogenic (VEGF) genes and proteins were downregulated in the FNP treatment in comparison with control cells. Conclusions: The study's findings indicate that FNPs considerably reduce anti-apoptotic and angiogenic gene expression in human breast cancer cells. | en |
