Survey of Selenium and lipids plasma levels in hemodialysis patients (Short Report)‎

Abstract

One of the most important side effects in hemodialysis patients is cardiovascular diseases. Selenium has an important role in reducing of atherosclerosis due to participation in structure of anti-oxidant enzymes. This study was to determine serum levels of selenium and plasma lipids in hemodialysis patients who referred to Imam Reza hospital. In this study we measured serum level of selenium, triglyceride, cholesterol, high density lipoprotein (HDL) and low density lipoprotein (LDL).
