Abstract | Pulmonary mucormycosis is an opportunistic fungal infection. It usually affects immunocompromised patients with poorly controlled blood glucose and ketoacidosis. The diagnosis of mucormycosis is very hard, particularly in severely immunocompromised patients. Here we describe a case of pulmonary mucormycosis in a well controlled diabetic patient who had limited clinical signs and symptoms. The patient was unsuccessfully treated with amphotericin B and died. This report seems to be a rare case of pulmonary mucormycosis in well controlled diabetes mellitus | en |
