| Abstract | Context: The gut microbiome, composed of microorganisms within our digestive system, is essential for gut health and is associated with various diseases. Methods: Research conducted from 2010 to 2025 indicates that dysbiosis, an imbalance in gut bacteria, is linked to conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), cancer, brain disorders, autoimmune diseases, and heart issues. Results: Dysbiosis, characterized by reduced microbial diversity and an increase in harmful bacteria, significantly contributes to IBD, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), chronic inflammation in cancer, and autoimmune diseases. Conclusions: Maintaining a balanced gut microbiome is crucial for overall health, and interventions such as fecal microbiota transplantation (FMT), probiotics, and high-fiber diets can restore balance and alleviate symptoms. | en |
